From the previous group of responses I did, I really enjoyed working with line. So, I started experimenting with creating I line pattern, like I did before with the snake responses, but this time not using the whole page but just a small area of the page. I then do a similar pattern on top of the pattern I did, but in a contrasting colour. I really like the outcome of this, so I then outline them with black, I feel this makes the shapes stand out even more and brings for definition to the shape. I then went to experiment more of these. The pieces, in a way, remind me of the work of Keith Harring. I think due to the black outline and the simplistic form. I really enjoying experimenting with this and painting them. I’m not sure what would be the outcome if I were to carry one with developing since there’s no exact theme, but maybe I will be able to incorporate it into another project.

I was really happy with the previous artworks I had done, and wanted to see if I could create I piece, made from my favourite aspects of each piece.
I started off with adding the glitch slogan to the artwork where I was focusing on worshiping. I did like the look, but I do feel it looks like two different artworks on top of one another and not in a good way! So I decided to take all the aspects I like and them combined them together. I did like the outcome and I do feel I did what I had intended, but I do feel the piece is too busy, too much going on.
I then did a quick photoshop piece, just out of pure curiosity and experimentation. I took a picture I took of myself when in a Zoom call, and then copied it three time in different sections. I really like this piece and feel it was my favourite of the three I did today, but it doesn’t really have anything to do with my project. But it has definitely inspired my next development process.

I wanted to develop my previous piece further, especially around the aspect of royalty and worship. I did a photoshoot where I was seated in worship poses. I then went on to place between the two portraits of me that were originally there. I feel adding these poses really enhance the idea od the virus being a higher being or a modern royalty.
I also added more graphs, and layering them ontop of one another as a background, which I prefer when compared to the artwork previously as it adds colours, and more interesting in general.
I also edited the hue and saturation of the ‘cell’. I decided to enhance the colours, so they become more vibrant and neon like, which I feel give the artwork I more sense of science and virus like atmosphere.
I really like this piece, and I feel its a really strong piece. I do like how the project is developing and looking forward to experimenting more

I decided to look back at the painting I did previously and experiment with it using photoshop. I wanted to make the ‘cells’ actually look like cells, especially the corona virus cell. I cut the cell painting and then layered the Lino print of cell I also did on top. I fell this really looked like the actually cell. I then went to change the colouring with more bright and neon colours. I really like the outcome and find the pieces really effective.
I also did I piece of me, with the Lino prints of the lung layering on top on me with the colouring changed. I too like this piece and feel I would like to go down this type of path with my more resolved pieces in the future.
WAWWA: DEVELOPMENT PRT.2
This week I’ve been mainly focusing on doing experimentation and development on the virus and cells aspects of my project. I have paint about 3 painting and made an artwork on ProCreate, and then combined them on photoshop by layering them on top on each other.
When thinking about cells and fighting of disease, I feel it can potray quite a chaotic feel, everything fighting to survive. So, I wanted to create or experiment with trying to represent messy, chaotic. I feel the layering technique helped as it make the artwork busy and a lot going on. However, I think it was successful.
This week, I feel I have hit a wall for inspiration. So, I am just experimenting with ideas that come to mind and not worrying about if it connects completely to my theme, as I don’t think that helps when mentally blocked.
I would like to further develop this piece in photoshop and add detailing to it.
