WEEK 2-PRT 3

I decided to smash the clay pot that I created as I wanted to recreate a sculptor piece similar to the drawings I had done that represented the tower of pots. However when I went to stick the clay together with a hot glue gun, the clay would not stick. I used PVA as a sort of varnishing, in hope of when I try using the glue gun again it will stick.

3D WEEK 2-PRT 2.

Eventhough I made a pot, I still wanted to experiment with composition. I collected several pots and experimented with height and composition. I then went on to photoshop and combined an apple into the background and placed the pot in the foreground to see the effect of the green colour against the metal tones. I really like the colours combination. From the previous compositions of the pots, I quickly drew the shapes that stood out to me and then drew out the shapes again but with paint. I really like the shapes that’s been produced.

3D WEEK 1 – PRT 2

As I was focusing on the apple piece that I was doing at the start of the week, I saw a piece by Robert Therrien, it was giant pots and pans stacked onto of one another and it reminded me of my mum, always dropping pans when cooking and the loud clatter in created. I painted some compositions of pans and how if I could recreate it, I would have them made from plaster and have them cracked. I then realised that both of my memories was based in the kitchen and many people have memories of being a child in kitchen watching parents cooking or eating dinner. I would like to make pans and maybe even a apple out of clay. I also plan on looking more into the psychological aspect of memory.

3D WEEK 1- PRT 1

For our three dimensional project we have to create a sculptor piece that connects to the word ‘memory’. I started off with looking at artists Robert Therrien and Claus Oldenburg. I liked how the artists play with scale and size. I also started to look into the senses and how senses connect with memory. I especially want to focus on the sense of hearing and sounds. The first memory that came to mind was my dad making me draw an apple to practice shading when I was younger. I bought a apple and painted onto and then drew with a thichmarker to create a child-like drawing. However I had some extra paint and painted a page in my sketch. When I placed the apple on the page it made it look slightly 2D, which made me think of perspective and illusions. I’ve also decided that as the weeks go by the apple will rot, representing memory loss and how memories fade as you get older.
